Meet Our Staff
Stan Pletcher, M.D.
Founder
Stan Pletcher is an Ophthalmologist and partner at Great Lakes Eye Care in Southwest MI. Stan saw a need to network global eye care professionals. He wanted to minimize duplications and create a network where groups and organizations would collaborate and work togethers. Global Sight Alliance is only one of many organizations that Stan has started or directed.
Roger W. Cabe - MNA
Executive Director
Roger Cabe began volunteering with Vision Outreach International in 2002. Nine years later he became the the Executive Director of the organization in the fall of 2011.
Roger also oversees Global Sight Alliance, a collaborative effort with the ASCRS Foundation. This networking web portal joins together global eye care professional with global eye care needs.
Roger has become familiar with all elements of operations. He has assisted in 25+ international mission endeavors and is in charge of the daily oversight of the organization, its goals, and its mission. He also serves as a member of the Board of Directors and the Executive Team.
Phil Schingel, mba
Finances
Phil currently serves as a part-time financial assistant, overseeing bookkeeping, accounts receivable and accounts payable. He worked for local business’ in areas of accounting and financial oversite prior to joining the Vision Outreach staff in 2017. We are grateful for his knowledge and assistance in keeping our records up to date.
Denise Cabe
Administrative Assistant
Denise originally served as a part-time financial assistant and later moved into the role of a part-time administrative assistant and volunteer. She helps in communications, quality control, inventory management, volunteer coordination and a host of other things. Denise at times serves as a volunteer on the Executive Team.
Caren Furdeck
Fund Development and Relationship Coordinator
Jennifer Pullins
Financial Management
Jennifer is a full-time employee of Great Lakes Eye Care and serves them in Financial Management. She is a strategic volunteer for Vision Outreach International especially in the areas of finances, insurance, and taxes. She also serves on the Executive Team as a consultant and financial advisor and attends Board meetings.
Ryan Lannigan, COMT
Financial Controls
Ryan is a full-time employee of Great Lakes Eye Care and serves them as a training director. He is a strategic volunteer for Vision Outreach International especially in the area of financial controls. Ryan’s work helps us with the separation of duties in areas of accounting and financial integrity.
David L. Cooke M.D.
Medical Director
David is a full-time ophthalmologist at Great Lakes Eye Care and Senior Partner with that organization. He is a strategic volunteer for Vision Outreach International especially in the areas of medical advice and decisions. He also serves on the Board of Directors as a consultant and KEY strategic thinker.
